First off, loving the Meet The Relicans video! 😀
And, hey!
I'm Michael, I'm the Community Manager at DEV (Forem). Interesting fact about me: I used to live in the Scottish countryside where I worked as a caregiver for mentally disabled adults. It was an awesome and rewarding job!
Anyway, I'm happy to be here and excited to see this community grow. Also, if you have any questions related to how the site works, give me a shout!
Michael, you should come on Launchies and talk about your transition to tech! These are exactly the kinds of stories we're looking for :D
Oh awesome! Hit me up via email and let's make it happen. 🙌
Can I email you?
Hallo!
I'm here to meet the Relicans and learn about observability (in and out of New Relic). Actually, I found this through DEV and I'm considering participating in the hackathon but not sure what to build. I thought New Relic One provided some climate change data for me to build with 🙈. I think it's a good way to learn more and apply what I learn, and hopefully win something ;)
For work, I build full-stack applications in JavaScript (sometimes .NET) and I share what I learn or know through blog posts (mostly) and occasionally tech talks. Recently, I started learning about Kubernetes and how to deploy applications on it.
Fun fact about me - I like to dance and you will find me in Latin or Kizomba dance parties anywhere I go to. I also play tennis and football, although I haven't played a serious match since I fractured my wrist.
Hi Peter! Just so you know, if you're looking for some specific support for the Hackathon, the Community Discussion thread here on The Relicans is a great place to get it 😊
Hi Peter, welcome! I am looking forward for your Hackthon entry!!!
Hahaha thank you. I hope to complete it before the deadline. I've been swamped with interviews since last week that I didn't get a chance 🙈.
Hopefully you can do it! And if you don't, you will have a great new job!
Let me know if you need any help!
And good luck with the interviews!
I love the design on this Forem. Kudos!
Thank you💞

I am not sure of that yet.
To be more honest. Have not yet contributed to any project yet. But given a chance, I wouldn't mind.

Hi all!
I'm Josh and I'm a robot technician at Starship Technologies. It's a very weird job as I'm basically a mechanic but for 6 wheeled robots that deliver food for universities :D.
Aside from that, I've started a journey of becoming a web developer and have been watching Chris Sean's youtube channel for a while now, which led me here! Thank you, Chris. I'm currently taking the front-end web dev track at treehouse. Looking forward to browsing The Relicans. Cheers!
That sounds like a super interesting role. How cool, though, that you're expanding your skillset! I've been very impressed by how kind and supportive the folks coming in from Chris' community have been. Welcome!
Welcome Josh! That's such a cool job! How do you like the courses on Treehouse?
Hi all!
My name's Loïc!
I used to be an accountant for 4+ years, but it was sad and unfulfilling so I enrolled in Le Wagon bootcamp and now I'm a junior full-stack web developer building web apps with Rails & React!
I am currently working at Bpart, a Belgium social impact company (we are building a bridge between citizens and their governments).
I am super excited to participate in this climate change hackathon and to meet like-minded people!
Wishing you all an amazing day! 🔥
Welcome!!!
Looking forward for your Hackthon project!

Hello everybody
Hello and welcome!!!
Hello :)
Hey y'all! I'm Gracie — Content Manager @ DEV Forem. Stoked to see this space evolve. Exciting 🎉
Hey everyone!
What an impressive community. I'm a new developer, working at a shipyard, looking for more opportunities to improve my programming skills. I've been working in C++, Java, javascript, and various databases. I've recently learned about the power of python and I wouldn't mind working more with that.
I have found the most amount of fun programming when I'm working with a team. Although many people might perceive software engineering to be a solitary skill, I have found that it should certainly be a socially engaging activity.
I look forward to learning more with you all!

Hi everyone 😊!
I feel so happy joining this community and discovering this great and cool New Relic platform.
I am so amazed how much potential New Relic has for many kinds of projects and apps.
Well, I currently work as a Software Development Engineer at Mine Sense for Miners (MS4M) in Cajamarca, Perú.
Fun fact is that the first blog post i ever do is in this community 😀, so i felt kinda excited.
Hugs everyone!
PD: Excuse my english 😅
Hello Levi, Your project was simple contenful beautiful. I looked at your project and you wrote really clean code.
I build a clone of your application in HTML (eco-stats-peru.vercel.app/)
I had a question How many hours you took to build the project?
Hi Chetan, thank you !!
Thanks for the feedback.
The project has taken me about a week between the design, the research, choosing the resources, the development itself, the deployment, and using the New Relic tools that by the way have surprised me in the potential they have.
Thanks for forking the repo, maybe you could do a similar project with information from your country 😉.
Aloooo. I'll be joining the Hackathon too!
Yey!!! Can't wait to see your project!
Hello all! Made my way here from DEV for Hack the Planet. Excited to watch things unfold!
Nathan
