Did anyone start with the hackathon? What are you building or what did you build?
I'm yet to start because I have some work to finish but I'm thinking about something around Covid-19. I'm not sure if it fits the category but I guess I can submit it under Science and Observation.

I finally got to building something and you can find the details in this post.
If you've started, how are you finding the New Relic platform?

I built a react app which shows polar ice cap reduction and integrated New Relic's Browser application feature into it.
You can find more information in my post 😄
Awesome!
This hackathon's definitely a tricky one, the concept of climate change and New Relic as a product seem quite disconnected.
I'm thinking maybe I should try and shoot for something in the "Out of this World" category which would make it a bit easier to build something innovative.
I agree. Even what I'm working on is related to Covid-19, and I guess it's under climate change for this hackathon because it was listed on DEV post.
I think even the ones for "Out of this world" has to be related to climate change. So it's quite a tricky one. I'm mostly looking forward to trying some new observability stuff.
The out of this world can be ANYTHING! The only requirement is to use New Relic, and write a short essay after.
I do think that New Year, New Resources is a great category if you have any applications that you have been wanting to upgrade, since you have to use a project you already have
I am still looking for inspiration! I am trying to gather good resources to get climate data, any suggestion about that? :)
This one is kinda nice: github.com/KKulma/climate-change-data
Hey Boset, I hope you find inspiration soon. I think ourworldindata.org is a good resource. They share their data on their GitHub repositories. For example, this one is about CO2 and gas emission (GitHub).
I hope it's useful.
I've been thinking something related to air quality. I know this is not 100% directly climate change, but I guess it'd make a nice submission to "science and observation" category.
Good luck with that. Looking forward to seeing it.
It does't have to strictly climate change, just observe science phenomena, and I think air quality applies to it.
